“Life does not consist mainly -- or even largely -- of facts and happenings. It consists mainly of the storm of thoughts that is forever blowing through one's head”

  1. In my opinion this quote by Mark Twain means that Life is what you make it, it is not based on just facts and real events that occur. It is also made up of your thoughts. Life can just be one solid path you follow, going on with everyday things, or a normal routine. Or, you can make a new path to follow, one for yourself. You don't have to keep up with the things that are happening around you. Think up new ideas, new things to do to be different. One example that would fit this perfectly would be of a school student. They may wake up every morning, eat, get showered, and dressed to go to school. Then they'll come home and do homework. Lets say another student may have the same routine in the morning, but after school they do something completely different. They don't stay home, they may go out and do volunteer work, Or work, maybe even do a unique sport. They're making their own path, they aren't following anyone elses.

  2. I think that this quote means live life to the most of your abilities. Dont have an average and repetitive life. There are so many people who do the same thing every day. Being in school gives you a repetitive life everyday you wake up and do the same thing, most people probably do the same thing every day after school to. Same goes for adults with work same thing everyday. There is so much to do in the world. Have an imagination and go do something different. Just think what you can do and go for it.

  3. To me this quote is trying to say many things about life. Mainly that life does not just happen, with out any reasoning or aspect to it. But that it is what you make of it. How you decide to live each and every day. Whether you know what you want to do and be in life, or you are one to just go with the flow of things. Live life everyday as if it is your last. Be a "Couch Potato" and let life just fly by and dont do a thing. Which ever way you want to be is the way it will be, but it is just up to you and the way you use your imagination to figure it out.

  4. I think this quote is trying to say that everything that happens in your life just comes and goes. But they all turn into memories. The memories that stick around and you remember are the ones that matter the most. Not the pointless things that happen or you do. each and everyday there will be some thoughts that run threw your mind that will remind you of something that has happened in your life.

  5. In this quote, Mark Twain might be trying to say that your life is what you make it. It’s not just about what happens day by day, but what you think of it. If you look at your day with a negative attitude than your day is definitely not going to be one of your better ones. If you wake up and think “today is going to be awesome” and be positive about everything that might happen throughout the day, than you will have that awesome day that you set out for. For example, some days I will wake up and me and my mother will get into an argument and right off the bat that will ruin my day. I feel like nothing will get better and I walk into school with a horrible attitude. On days like that, I don’t make good decisions. I don’t focus in class, I give people attitudes who don’t deserve it, or I make mistakes at practice that cost me to not start the big game the next day. On good mornings when I’m happy and ready to go, I make smart decisions such as being nice to everybody, focusing in class and getting the best grades I can get, and playing my heart on the field if it’s a big game, or just a practice. You have to look at your days in a positive way if that’s how you want it to be. If you don’t, than you are not going to live the life you want and you will be disappointed. Mark Twain is trying to say life doesn’t consist of the facts or happenings but it consists of your thoughts more.

  6. In my opinion I think this quote means life doesn't always have to be serious. Consisting of facts, statements, research , etc. Life should also be fun. It should be what you make it to be, give it emotion. Laughter , enjoyment , and goodtimes. Of course there will be bad times but you should power through it and have a good day. Also that no one is a computer they have they're own actual thoughts and personalities. Thats what life is made of. For example school, all day you learn about things, but teachers can make it fun, using fun ways to express what they need to teach its not all just facts.
