  1. "Life does not consist of mainly,or even largely, of facts or happenings. It Consists mainly of the storm of thoughts that is forever blowing through one's head." This means that life isn't about weather your wrong or right, its about what you think about your life at the moment. Kind of like when you think everything is going wrong for you, and you don't know what to do. But really your life is totally fine, your just over stressed about the future to realize whats infront of you. I've seen this happen so many times, and I'm sure you have to. Maybe you have even gone threw it yourself as well.
To go threw something like this must be hard, and i know that because sometimes i see my sisters constantly doing this. Most of the time its about weather or not they have enough money to pay their bills, if they should trust their boyfriends, their weight, if what their going to collage to be is what they really want to do. There is so many things, but it is life. You worry and you worry a lot because your only human. Heck my mom worries about me all the time. She even makes me call her at certain times of the day if I'm just with my friends. Well what I'm trying to say that its okay to get lost in your thoughts, and your worries. You just have got to remember whats right infront of you.

  2. I think we all can agree Mark Twain is a smart man. By agreeing with this, you should know he says some inciteful things, including “Life does not consist mainly or even largely of facts and happenings. It consists mainly of the storm of thoughts that is forever blowing through one's head”. This is very true. Facts can have almost no affect to somebody's life, if they have a set thought on something. If you think you look a certain way, even if you don't, no matter what anybody says, you will continue to feel that way. If you believe in god, then you believe in god, no matter what evidence there is that that doesn't exist. If you truly believe in something, you will continue to feel and think that way, despite the fact that the actual truth could be completely and totally different.
Also, in situations, this quote often applies to parents. If they do not keep in contact with their children they can get very nervous and think that all of these awful things have happened to their child because they have not answered their phone, when in all reality, the child's phone died, and they are totally okay and safe in a friends house watching a movie with their parents. No matter what the truth is, it may not be the truth to you.

  3. In my opinion in what this quote means is that, a lot of times things aren't going to go your way and you have to accept those things. you have to accept the fact you can't change everything, once your journey is set it's set your not going back, you always have to push forward whether you like it or not. Irony plays a great role in this quote. O.k. lets say you get up at 7:30 in the morning to watch the news and the weather report, it says its going to be sunny, and you're all happy, and you plan to have to party that day and you pretty much sent all the invitations for the party, and here comes the fun part, its raining cats and dogs, now your at mad, upset that it's raining, and it stops and the sun comes out. then it starts to rain again. in a nutshell like i said before everything's not going to go your way, and if you can't accept those things you're going to have a miserable life, you're going to have nothing but stress in your life if all you're going think everything's going to go your way. to be honest a person who i can relate to this quote is my great grandfather Peter Murphy III and this is my conclusion to this quote

  4. The quote “Life does not consist mainly -- or even largely -- of facts and happenings. It consists mainly of the storm of thoughts that is forever blowing through one's head” can have many different meanings. Sometimes people may think something is right and wrong but it’s what you think at the moment it happens. For example people may think it is right to say something but after they say it they may feel like they said too much or they said something wrong. I now in my life I have done this before. I have said something to someone and I took it a little too far. After I said this I felt really bad and I felt weird every time I saw that person and spoke to them as well. This could fit in with many things such as not having a ride when you need it. For example I needed money for gas but I did not have a ride to work so I had to ride my bike to work. It sucked really badly but you have to work with what you got and yes I got there late and almost got fired but you got to do what you have to do. You can’t always rely on someone to always to do everything for you. You are better off doing what you need to do on your own.

  5. What does the quote “Life does not consist of mainly, or even largely, of facts or happenings. It consists mainly of the storm of thoughts that is forever blowing through one's head.” Mean to me? It means that what goes on in someone’s imagination is more powerful than anything that could happen in real life. Thinking of something could change someone’s life forever without anything even happening to them. All of the inventions that we depend on today started by someone’s thoughts. Without dreaming about things, we wouldn’t know what jobs we wanted, if we wanted to start a family or anything in the future. For example, if we decided tomorrow that we wanted to go out and change our lives, we would have a lot to think about. We couldn’t just go out and do something without even taking chances on what might come to be. I think that if people just waited to see what could happen tomorrow then they may miss out on a chance of a life time and not even know it. I believe that it’s extremely important for people to think before they act. If they act without thinking, chances are they will end up making some stupid decisions in life. I understand that we all need to make mistakes so that we can learn from them. However, there are some mistakes that people should never make. They change your life in bad ways and they cannot always be fixed. It’s always best to think things through but to also use your imagination when you can.

  6. When Mark Twain said “life does not consist mainly- or even largely- of facts and happenings. It consists mainly of the storm of thoughts that is forever blowing through one’s head,” the way in which I interpret it is follows. People have hundreds of minor, insignificant thoughts like “oh will you look at that, that guy there looks like a friend of mine,” that they will forget in less than 30 minutes. Only a small number of things like where they are going, why they’re going there what the weather is like will be remembered for days, possibly weeks. Doubtfully they will remember it in several years time. Only major thoughts like towards a funeral, car accident, or wedding will be remembered for decades or possibly the rest of their life. Memory in that aspect is like stone. Over the ages it erodes from sharp and crisp to a blank nothing. All of the countless number of thoughts a day going through your head, some are good some are bad. You try to stay away from the bad ones and stick to the better and happier memories. Some you look back with regret, some make you sob in sorrow and some make you laugh till you cry. Most of them you should try to learn something from. All of them make you who you are. Whether you are sharp, cynical and cold or optimistic, happy and cheerful, you are shaped by your everyday thoughts and experiences. As you go through life you change, often becoming a better person because of it.

  7. “Life does not consist mainly -- or even largely -- of facts and happenings. It consists mainly of the storm of thoughts that is forever blowing through one's head” said by Mark Twain. I think he means that what ever is happening does not matter unless you want it to happen. What ever you are thinking, your brain just thinks and re-thinks the same thing. For example, my best friend and I got into a fight. The only thing I was thinking about is how to apolgize and how to talk to her about it. I wasn't thinking about what happened, I was thinking about how to make it better. The fact that we fought wasn't the point. It was the fact that I just kept thinking on how to make it better. No matter what is happening in life you have to keep your imagination open and let all the good in life soak in and not the bad. When you put your mind to something, you can do it. Sometimes your mind gets the best of you. I think that is what Mark Twain is trying to say.
