Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.
~Albert Einstein
Using an example from literature, history, science, film or
your own experiences; write about how appearances can be different from
realities. How do these difference
impact our world? Explain!
In my opinion appearances can be different from realities is that the fact that appearance is your how you dress , talk , look etc. You don't want to people to get the first impression as if you don't care about what people have to say about you , your letting people think of you as you dont care about your life and what people have to say. Realities is the world or the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them. Basically it is that you have to face things that hit you in life and how it does come. You have to face the fact about how you look whether you like it or you don't . For example my friend didnt like the way she looked because she thought people will always look at her sideway and judge her even before they got the chance to know her because of the way she would dress and wouldn't care about how she came out the house or anything. Until reality did it her , she noticed that people do judge you by the way you come around them , the way you look , dress , act etc. It impacts our world because things like this is not just happening with one person its happening all around the world.
ReplyDeletei would say that appereance and reality are very different. You see your best friend for instance, who you tell everything about yourself trusting they dont tell other people. But in reality once you leave they go hang out with another person and tell them all about you And your personal problems. Basically what im saying is that in reality your frind is just a skumbag asshole who doesnt give a shit how you feel or about the problems in your life. Friends are fake and some are real. Reality hits harder than a bat and when it does you best duck that shit!
ReplyDeletesome people live in their own world and need to snap back into reaility. reality is your life and the way you live it. many people think they can get off easy and not work to their full advantages or betray a friend or loved one. your image in other peoples eyes change. its very important what people think about you when your older because you will not be successful if you do not have a decent backround. everyone needs a reality check atleast one time in their lifetime. people do wrong things because their young but once you grow up and enter the real world you relize that those mistakes might of made you exactly who you are today. reality tv shows are nothing like the real world. they exxagerate and imply wrong impressions on people for fame, its pathetic. a reality tv show should actually be what life is like in other states or countries for people, not a way over exxagerated version of it. not everything is going to go right and bad things will happen around you but you have to keep doing what your doing and be succesful. ignore the negatives in your life. you'll hit bumps along the road but you will always conquer them because life goes on. not everything in life may be exactly what it seems but thats what life is about. determining and speculating certain things and deciding weather or not its worth the struggle or the dissapointment.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion reality isn't always what it seems. How you see the world and what you think is reality can just be a lie in the end. People can make you see what they want you to see but they could actually be hurting you behind your back. For example, I had a friend in 8th grade and she was supposed to be my best friend. We were never separated in school, then i had to move and I found out that she really didn't like me. She was lying to my face about actually being my friend and saying mean things about me behind my back.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what you have to say about how reality isnt always what it seems like. Many people in life do hurt you in your life

ReplyDeleteAppearances are very different then realities. Appearances are what you see when you look at a person. Reality is what you don’t see. For example, you look at someone and see that they walk around and don’t talk to people all day everyday so you just assume that they are a loser or just not “cool”. But when you actually talk to them you find out that they are a lot like you , and have similar hobbies or do the same things as you. The thing is that reality is merely an illusion, What’s real can’t really be seen all the time, and when you do see it , that’s not exactly what the reality is. You appear to be a tough guy who will knock someone out, but when you fight him he is a softy and just runs away. The appearance was that he was tough, the reality of it was that he wasn’t.

ReplyDeleteI could not have put it better. Reality is merely an illusion. When it comes to reality, there is no truth. There is only perspective. No one else sees what you see. Reality completely relies on how your brain perceives what you see. Appearance relies on how your brain puts images together. There, however, lies the flaw. Just because you perceive something, does it make it true? Of course not. Everyone's reality is completely different. Unfortunately, there is no way to transcend the illusion. So when it comes to appearance, a common interpretation cannot be established among our species as a whole because it is different with every person. Therefore, appearance should not even be considered to be something of importance in our lives as it completely depends on who you are. Unfortunately, it's just something that has become such a big part of everyone's lives that its unimportance goes unrecognized. Joseph Conrad once said, “In a dispassionate view the ardour for reform, improvement for virtue, for knowledge, and even beauty is only a vein sticking up for appearances as though one were anxious about the cut of ones clothes in a community of blind men.” This is basically saying that revolving your life around meaningless things such as appearance, for example, is pointless. About as pointless as trying to show off to a blind man. In a way we should be envious of blind men, as they live without discriminating based on looks, because they cannot see. This is how we should all live, metaphorically, of course.
ReplyDeleteDoing what you'll say you do and doing what you actually do are different areas of achievement. If you want to accomplish something, don't just talk about it, but actually go out and do what is needed to be done to achieve that dream or dreams of yours. The Bible says be a doer of the word and don't just talk about it. When you do what you want to do by being proactive and planning ahead, you will reach that intended goal of yours. To be short, just be active and work at it to make your dreams and goals a reality.
ReplyDeleteI think apperances are much different from reality. Apperances is the way you look to other people and how you first appear to people. Like if you dress a certain way you are automatically put in a certain group of people. Like for example if you listen to rap you're automatically expected to like certain things and if you listen to country you're automatically considered a hick. When i first moved down to jersey i tried to fit in with all the kids that i hung out with so i changed my apperance completely to fit in with them. I started listening to rap and talking a certain way but in reality i still liked to ride quads and get dirty. Reality is who you actually are and that's what should define who you are..not your apperance.
