  1. In my opinion, the quote above refers to the need for this harsh reality. This person does not want to be told that everything will be okay because it would all be in vain. They want to face life how they feel it is meant to be lived; faith, sin, happy times and plenty of hardships. A simple hand on the shoulder or "It'll be alright" doesn't change a thing. Wanting comfort is the same as simply wanting somebody to show that they care enough for your well-being. It's not that comfort doesn't make us feel better, but that doesn't stop every lie or crime or even a slept through alarm clock from happening. Those are things That only you can cope with on your own. Life passes by, and it's our jobs to make the best out of this. You can see that this person happens to be religious. This is how they deal with hardships instead of relying in everybody else's comfort. They say that they want God because that is what they believe in. They state that they want sin because what's life without a balance of good and bad? People may want some perfect world with peace and love and kisses, but it will never happen. This person has accepted that, and is perfectly fine with enduring every bad thing in life. With that said, they also want to acknowledge all of the good things in life. They don't want to dwell on the bad, because while we are living in a tainted world, there is still so much to appreciate. This person is a writer, I take it, or at least has some form of passion for it. They want literature, they want poetry and read (or possibly write) the expression and experiences of others or what she can relate to. This person just wants to live, not by other people's sympathy, but by her own standards.
